We’ve owned this bike for about a month, and we’re very happy with it so far. It was shipped through FedEx, and an adult signature was required upon delivery. Assembly was mostly straightforward, but one of the pedals was defective and couldn’t be attached. I contacted customer service, and they promptly sent us a replacement crank arm and pedal, which resolved the issue. I was impressed with how quickly they handled it. The seat is surprisingly comfortable and doesn’t become uncomfortable on longer rides. The bike is also quite fast. You can set a speed limit if you don’t want it to reach its maximum speed of about 25 mph. Even when using pedal assist, the bike accelerates quickly. After just a couple of pedal strokes, it reaches around 10–12 mph, so it doesn’t feel like a traditional bicycle that slowly builds speed. Because of that, I think it’s better suited for older teenagers or adults. For reference, I’m 5’5” and weigh about 140 pounds. I can comfortably sit on the seat with both feet touching the ground, and I find the bike easy to handle. We usually charge the battery overnight, and it lasts about two days for us. We mainly ride around our neighborhood, so your battery life may vary depending on how far you ride and the level of pedal assist you use. We’ve only had the bike for a month, so I can’t comment on its long-term durability yet, but based on our experience so far, we’re very pleased with the purchase.

    this arrived in a huge box and was well protected. the bike itself wasn't too bad to assemble. All the assembly is related to the front tire and handle bars which was a relief. the back assembly was done already. Everything is well made and price seems fair for what it is. TBD on battery life. Max speed is 20 and you get hit that in about 3 seconds.

    Ok, im writing this 1 month of having it and i already have 301 miles on it. I use to go to school and just ride it too. The durability is good, Max speeds for each mode are good too.
    Max speeds:
    Mode 1 – 10 MPH
    Mode 2 – 15 MPH
    Mode 3 – 20 MPH
    Assembly is also easy, a bit expensive but worth it!

    EDIT:: They reached out to me and made things right by providing free replacement parts as well as some complimentary items for the inconvenience. Great service, we are very happy with the outcome.

    Front bolt came all the way off, despite it being tightened as tight as humanly possible. My son was riding the bike and said the front wheel was "loose". Of course, we couldn't find the bolt, it likely fell off somewhere along the route he was driving. This happened within the first 2 weeks of having the bike.

    I reached out to their support team – I figured since it was just a bolt, they would send out a replacement. Nope – they want to charge me to replace a bolt that costs .75 at Lowes.

    Customer support is a total joke.

    Disappointed that brand new bike requires troubleshooting squeaking/chirping noise

    It is a nice Ebike. Very good packaging and simple assembly steps, but unfortunately, it has a problem with squeaking noise that starts on throttling. It is not brakes issue. If you just paddle without the motor, it is fine, but the second you push the throttle, it stats.

    It took over 2 weeks to receive the Macfox and at one point I demanded my money back because the tracking information was bogus and I figured the bike was never coming. In the end, both Amazon and Macfox blamed the carrier (purple and orange) for the delay but it did show up. And then Macfox sent out a pair of $60 pedals as an "I'm sorry" gift and it worked because I wasn't mad after that and here I am leaving a 5 star review. Mostly because of the bike itself though. When you compare apples to apples with this type of bike, I believe Macfox is the most bang for your buck. They even come with decent hydraulic brakes now. One thing to note about that though… they are no longer a direct swap for upgraded mountain bike brakes. You need an aftermarket bracket that Macfox should (but currently doesn't) sell. I jury-rigged an MT5 caliper with a bracket I had but Macfox definitely needs to sell the correct one or just include it as an extra with a new bike. Most people don't run stock brakes on these. Although the new hydraulic brakes are a huge improvement over their old mechanical brakes so maybe people will.

    Awful customer service

    Rating 1-Star for the absolutely horrible customer service. The axle bolts holding the front wheel on the bike come unscrewed while riding. I have seen several other posts on Reddit regarding this issue. After emailing Macfox customer support they said after sending them pictures of the bike and part, that they would send me an invoice to PURCHASE replacement bolts and after paying they would ship the parts. The bike is $1,200, mind you, and the front wheel practically fell off in the first 50 miles of riding and they won’t even provide free replacement bolts due to obvious poor design. There were 7-8 emails sent back and forth and they NEVER sent an invoice and completely stopped responding. I had to go to the hardware store and find the closest thing that fit. If possible buy an ebike from an American company instead.

    This bike is claimed to be the best e-bike for wheelies and riding it hard. My son rode it for less than a month and it has already had the motor die, which they did not help replace. We had to get our own replacement even though it should have been under manufacturer’s warranty. Now, there is something wrong with the main motor cable and it won’t run. I don’t want to email them again because I feel that they will just give me the runaround, again. This bike sucks. My daughter’s e-bike is an off brand and it’s been running great without any issues.
    UPDATE:
    After speaking with a representative when attempting to return the bike the responded with a different level of respect and what seemed like actual concern. They are replacing the motor and I appreciated that very much. I still can’t give the bike 5 stars but after we get the motor and it stays working, it could go up. At least for now, the customer service was very helpful and responsive.
