This is a great motorbike, …, I mean e-bike. 😅 I’ve put 100km on it computing to work over the last month and love riding it. It’s fast, yes, 48km/hr fast on highest mode. Fits me (5’11”) well and has nice front shocks for a decent ride. It’s got nice disk brakes, solid build, great screen, and nice hardware. The installation video that it came with was one of the best I’d ever seen – it went together no problem – and came with all parts.
However, while it is close, it’s annoyingly not perfect
1) if you ride on a bumpy road, the top of the battery will dislodge, even if locked. Obviously not great. There aren’t broken parts on my bike, and the battery has yet to fully come out while riding, but it’s a design flaw.
2) it’s not calibrated well, at all! It launches from standing to 18 km/hr on level 1! Then 28, 34, 39, 48 km/ hr max in other levels. The launching (think pop wheeley) is dangerous if unexpected (quarter peddle turn will do it) and people are nearby. My wife couldn’t handle it and was freaked out. Also it means you can’t peddle if with kids on bikes going 8-9km/hr. It should be 8, 18, 28, 38, 48 on the five levels, with smoothing from still. Using the break kills the motor, so I find myself tapping the break often while starting up.
3) it’s heavy! Real heavy. I’m 5’11” and usually lift bikes up stairs but ease, but no chance with this one. Unless you can bench 200lbs and are built like a bull you cannot pick it up. To be fair, e-bikes are heavy, and I wouldn’t even mention this if it wasn’t the advertisement boasted about how light it was and showed someone lifting it – do not believe it!
I’m keeping the bike cause I love blasting around town; love how quick it is when it’s just me.
I recommend this ebike, but with these caveats in mind.
